Healthy Eating in Greenport

Wow! Who is more excited than me that the market (health food store) in Greenport has moved, expanded and created an awesome cafe to hang out in?!?!  Shelly, the owner, is great - she is the epitome of healthy eating and she will probably be the happiest (not to mention most profitable) business owner on the North Fork.  The new digs are located across the street from the carousel in the building that used to be a children's store (high end children's clothes and the north fork never seemed a good fit - no surprise they closed down). 

I can't wait until the warm summer days when I can stroll over to the market for some yummy eats.  Loving the fact that now I can enjoy 2 cool spots in Greenport - The Market and DeLatte - if you are ever looking for me, start at those 2 hot spots!!  Maybe the rumours are true....Greenport may just have a shot at being on the verge of being gentrifyed.:)

SOUTHAMPTON GOES TO GREENPORT!!!???

myhamptons mag has heard a rumour that Nello of Nello's Summertime in Southampton has bought a building or two in Greenport and is planning on opening a hotel and restaurant. While we don't know where the buildings are that he bought we do know that the building next to the movie theater was on the market and one or two B&B's are for sale. We'll do a little research and try to flesh out the rumour. The mag can't imagine how he'll open for this summer so if its true we might have to wait til 2009 to see the change.
